coolpix-s30-camera-e1338322002348Earlier this year I put together a full review of the Nikon S30 camera after Nikon sent me the unit as a loaner for a couple of weeks during a trip to Miami. I loved it so much that I recently purchased one for an upcoming trip after this particular model went on sale at our local Walmart for $88.00. As you can see from the video, the camera does a fantastic job shooting and recording underwater.

The camera offers a 10.1 megapixel image sensor, producing sharp images and high-quality HD movies. There is a 3x wide angle zoom on the camera as well. The only thing I recommend is that you double check the settings before you start shooting as there is a frame feature that allows you to take photos within custom frames. If you don’t want frames around your photos, then make sure this is disabled.

My son threw this camera on concrete and smashed it a few times in the pool for testing purposes. It is shock proof and perfect for little clumsy hands. If you are looking for a camera you can hand over to your kids, have fun with in the pool and take quality photos and video, I highly recommend the Nikon S30. There are plenty of toy cameras out there, but don't let them fool you. The quality doesn't even compare to that of a regular digital camera AND they are not waterproof.

You can find this camera on Amazon.com right now in 3 colors - blue, pink and white. It is currently on sale for $74.95.
