This is a true story. When my husband and I first started dating, I would HATE the fact that he was so anal about stains. If we went out to dinner and he got a spot on his shirt, he would RUN to the bathroom and come back 15 minutes later sopping wet. He HAD to get the stain out even if it meant his shirt would drip for the rest of the night.
13 years later, it’s only gotten slightly better.
I now have learned a few stain fighting tips and make sure I’m equipped wherever we go - especially while on vacation. Our outfits have to last us at least an entire day. There’s no going home and changing when you have just enough clothes to get you through a trip.
Here are three stain fighting tips to remember the next time you travel with children:
The Tide to Go Instant Stain Remover
You know when you think something is too good to be true? Well, the Tide to Go pen really does WORKS. It’s like mom magic in the palm of your hand. I’m serious. If I have the pen with me and my children dirty themselves (which is every meal by the way), I whip it out and take care of the stain before it sets. It’s so easy to use that they could probably do it themselves. This goes for your husbands as well. ;)
The Magic Eraser - Yes I Pack This Too
My kids love to draw... on walls. I don’t know what it is with them and NOT drawing on paper, but it’s true. The Magic Eraser is fan-tabulous! If they get a little crazy with a crayon, I just clean it quickly before we check out. This gives me peace of mind because I know there won’t be any future bills coming from the hotel.
White Vinegar Works Too
No, I’m not saying for you to carry around a bottle of vinegar because that would be... crazy. However, if you are out to eat and your husband spills coffee on his shirt (and you don’t have your Tide to Go pen) ask a waiter for a little vinegar. Rinse and repeat (in the bathroom of course). If it’s stubborn, you might want to wait until you get back to the hotel and then scrub the stain with a toothbrush. Elbow grease my friends!
Do you have any stain fighting tips? Would love to hear some of your secret tools.
