Kids Love Interstate 95 boasts “500 kid-tested fun stops and unique spots from the Mid-Atlantic to Miami”.  Last year, I had the opportunity to review Kids Love Interstate 75 and I immediately fell in love with the format of the book.  When I had an opportunity to check out another book in the series, I immediately said yes.  I am, after all, a self-proclaimed lover of all things guidebook!

George and Michele Zavatsky have perfected the format for a family friendly, user friendly, useful guidebook.  With their “been there, done that” experiences, they share the best places to stop along the Interstate.  Kids Love Interstate 95 starts listing activities in Pennsylvania, through nine states, all the way down to the tip of Florida where I-95 ends at exit 1A.  Activities include things like museums, stadium tours, aquariums, parks, gardens, restaurants, and more. 

The activities are listed by state and interstate exit.  I love that you can be traveling and if you are ready to make a pitstop all your co-pilot has to do is open up this book, find a nearby exit and choose an activity.  Each listing includes information about the activity, what you can do or see, hours, admission information, and any other helpful information.  Each state has its own Activities at a Glance page which makes finding a stop much easier.  My favorite parts of the book are the individual maps that you find in each state section.  Each map (20 miles of travel per page) has a picture of the interstate and branching off of the road are listings for the activities included in the book, rest stops, recommended hotels, and picnic areas.  You can easily reference these maps to see if there are going to be any places available to stop along the way during your travels.   

In a few weeks, we are heading to Amelia Island, Florida and though we won’t spend any time on I-95 we will certainly be passing by.  I will definitely have this book in the front seat with us so we can make our pitstop plans!
