I would love to trade in my gas-guzzling Suburban for a cool, gas sipping hybrid. But I have three kids, lots of gear and now, as the roadtrip warrior, I need a car that's comfortable for those long-haul roadtrips. And, when I'm not traveling, I need a car for running errands that I can drive easily along these narrow New England roads and park in the tiny parking spaces (when I can find a vacant one).
On my trip to southern California, Volvo provided me with a complimentary trial of a wagon/sport utility crossover, and Nissan brought me a cute little Cube and then an SUV to try.
