Caribbean Vacation for 15 yr old Boy?

We would like to take a cruise during the Christmas holiday break to the carribeans and am looking for information on a vacation that will be suitable for boys 15 yrs of age. Do you have any suggestions? We have never taken a cruise and am looking for all the information I can get. Our son was in a freak TBI accident over a year ago and he deserves the best vacation I can give him:)

Orlando without Mickey Mouse?

Southern TravelingMom
When you hear Orlando, it is usually synonymous with Disneyworld (or at least all things amusement park). In a few weeks, we are headed to Orlando where we are not going to visit Mickey Mouse at DisneyWorld. *GASP* I know!

Seeking a gentle vacation on Maui

Any advice for a road weary mom with slight mobility challenges?  Seeking beautiful experience on Maui and looking for a great place to stay.   Can't hike due to recent surgery but can enjoy the sunrise, sunset and island tranquility.

P.S. no kids this trip -- newly empty nesters on a re-honeymoon :)

THX!

Entertaining Kids on Long Distance Car Trips

Southeast Michigan TravelingMom
My husband and I have a running debate. In a few weeks, we will be making an eight-hour car trip with the kids, a toddler and preschooler. We are trying to decide if an in-car entertainment system, e.g., a TV and DVD player, is a bit excessive or is completely necessary for the children's amusement and for our sanity.

Finding Affordable Vacations

I have 8 children including my hubby and myself. I can never find affordable vacations for big families. Can you help? How do you travel with a large group and keep sanity and budget?

Suggestions for Travel with Toddlers

I am flying from NY to Atlanta with my husband, 2 year old and 4 month old. My 4 month old will be on my lap. My question is, does my 2 year old need a special airplane booster seat? Or do we bring her car seat with us and strap it to the airplane seat? And what suggestions do you have for toting the kids around the airport? I was thinking of bringing our single stroller for the 2 year old and holding the 4 month old in the bjorn? Unless, of course, I need to have a car seat / airplane booster seat with me.
