| A Los Angeles native, Mimi Slawoff traveled the globe before she even knew it. From local outings to trips abroad, Mimi spent her childhood traveling with her parents and sister. The summers she spent living in Bulgaria with relatives fueled her love of travel and linguistics (she is fairly fluent in Bulgarian and stumbles through French).
A former Los Angeles Daily News reporter, Mimi writes for L.A. Parent magazine (www.laparent.com). Her award-winning monthly column, Let’s Go, features things to see and do with kids in L.A., California and beyond. From the time they were tots, her kids - Christina, Michael and Megan - have explored museums, restaurants, theaters, theme parks, beaches, deserts, ski resorts and countless hotels. Family travels include ski trips to Italy and France, and beach trips to Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico and the French West Indies. In addition, Mimi is an associate editor for Santa Clarita Living magazine (www.scfree.com) in North L.A. County. She also writes for the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau, Trip Advisor, Disney’s FamilyFun magazine, Colorado Parent, Boston Parent, Bay Area Parent, Central Parent and for www.familytravelforum.com. Mimi, who hold a bachelor’s degree in photo journalism, lives with her husband and three children in Valencia (home of Six Flags Magic Mountain), located about 40 miles north of L.A. |
