As the wife of a commercial airline pilot, Chris Bird has turned traveling stand-by into a science. Whether traveling with her family or alone, her suitcase is always light and her schedule flexible. She makes sure to always have a contingency plan and plenty of snacks on hand for her rambunctious, four-year-old daughter, Reagan.

Chris has a background in graphic design, her career spanning 18 years at design firms and advertising agencies. She now freelances as a designer and social media and advertising manager. In her spare time, she writes at MamaBirdsBlog.com
