How can the matriarch of a big clan tell uncle from nephew when they’re the same age? Journalist Christine Tibbetts started pondering such issues 33 years ago when she married a man with four teenagers, bringing her two-year-old into the blend. She birthed one more baby, and then added leaves to the dinner table for the ever-evolving math of a dozen grandchildren and five great-grands. Now she awaits the July birth of another grandchild. No order to these generations. Christine handled public relations and marketing accounts through it all, specializing in tourism, the arts, education, politics and community development. Ten years ago the whole blend gave birth to a steady stream of travel destination newspaper features, with more unfolding all the time.
