Kansas City Barbeque

Try some of the best barbecue in the country at Jack Stack BBQ.
jackstack copyKansas is famous for more than just Dorothy and Toto.  It is home to some of the best barbecue in the nation. A family vacation to Kansas City isn’t complete without dinner at one of the renowned barbecue joints.  Travel & Leisure has included several Kansas City restaurants in its list of “America’s Best BBQ Restaurants”.  Kansas City, Missouri, boasts more than 100 barbecue restaurants and is the “world’s barbecue capital.”

On our recent famiy trip to the heartland, we took a group of 15 to Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue.  The restaurant doesn’t take reservations, so plan to arrive early and wait. It’s worth it, trust me.  Jack Stack is famous for introducing gourmet hickory wood cooking and creating the most extensive barbecue menu in the country.

Skip the chicken nuggets on the kids’ menu and serve them up some sliced meat or ribs.  All the kids at the table loved that eating with your hands and licking your fingers was a-ok.  I recommend the baby back ribs (I want my baby back, baby back) and cheesy corn bake.  You can always go the gym tomorrow.  Best part of our meal?  Dinner for eight stuffed adults and seven children was only $227 including tip.

Not going to Kansas City any time soon but I just made you really hungry?  You can have it shipped!  I haven’t tried it yet, but I hear it’s fabulous.
