Seattle new years family events 2012It’s not too late to plan some New Year’s Eve fun.  Here are some family-friendly New Year’s Eve events planned for Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, Olympia, Everett and Bainbridge Island this Saturday.  Happy New Year!

Seattle

Seattle Children’s Museum New Year Countdown

Count down the New Year around the world at Seattle Children’s Museum.  Starting with New Delhi, India at 11:00 am, then every hour working around the globe toward Seattle, “toast” the new year with a countdown and small cups of fruit punch. Following each countdown create a craft from that country.

Ring in the New Year with a celebration of the arts and creativity at this family-friendly, non-alcoholic event.  Features programs and performances especially for kids.  Enjoy giant puppets, firedancers, music and dance and free admission (with your First Night button) to the Museum of Glass, Washington State History Museum, Tacoma Art Museum. Bundle up, get a cup of hot chocolate and walk through the zoo paths lit by a half-million lights creating beautiful winter displays.  The antique carousel is a must-do, and don’t forget about the camel rides!
