BigSnowUp until the last few weeks, the skiing was anything but fabulous in the West. But that is all changing. The snow is coming down fast and furiously and the resorts want you there to experience it. Here is how the snow is shaping up in some of my favorite western destinations!

Park City Mountain Resort – “We've been waiting for this storm all season and it delivered with a bang! Well over two feet of the Greatest Snow on Earth® has blanketed Park City Mountain Resort in the last five days, including 20 inches in just the past 24 hours, and more is on its way! Check out some photos from this morning and see who played hooky from the Sundance Film Fest to get some powder turns in our video of the snowfall over the past few days.”

Heavenly Mountain Resort- “Overall, Heavenly is operating 23 lifts with 28 open trails and more than 15 miles of the finest snow surface conditions Lake Tahoe has to offer. Snow depths on the open trails range from 18-24 inches and snow coverage is wall-to-wall. With snow in the forecast for this weekend, Heavenly is hoping to open additional terrain soon and, with the snow pack that has already been created across all 28 open trails, conditions will only continue to improve. Winter Park Resort- “ 7” of fresh powder blanket Winter Park in the past three days, 14.5” in the past week, allowing the opening of top-to-bottom  acreage for the season. The Panoramic Express and Parsenn Bowl opened on Thursday, taking skiers and riders to above treeline and 12,060ft elev. The sun is shining, there is fresh snow and conditions are improving every day. Events are in full swing, so catch free family activities after your time on the mountain. For a full list geared for the family, visit The Village at Winter Park’s events calendar"

And it just keeps getting better according to a release by Vail Resorts today “ The snow keeps coming in Colorado and just in time for a great skiing and riding weekend. With the mounds of fresh powder, Keystone Resort announced today its famed snow cat skiing operation the Keystone Adventure Tours is now open for business with the opening of Independence Bowl at the Resort. Additionally, Vail Mountain received 11 inches of snow last night and announced more terrain openings in Blue Sky Basin while Breckenridge received 8 inches of fresh powder and continues to open more expert terrain daily. At Beaver Creek, the official 5 a.m. snow report shoed six inches although skiers and riders reported finding nine inches by the time the lifts opened.”

Get up to your favorite mountain and enjoy some of this great powder! Also, check out this post for more inspiration Snow Much Fun for Vacationing Families at Big Bear Lake
