Family Vacationing at the Pines Lodge in Beaver Creek

If you're looking for place to stay with your family in Beaver Creek, Colorado this winter, the Pines Lodge is definitely worth exploring.
Pines LodgeIf you're looking for place to stay with your family in Beaver Creek, Colorado this winter, the Pines Lodge is definitely worth exploring. Centrally located in Beaver Creek Resort, it is close enough to either ski or walk to lifts, shops, restaurants and all the activities including snowshoeing and snow mobiling in the winter and whitewater rafting and mountain biking in the summer.   The lodge has been voted the number one resort and restaurant, according to Market Metrics.  Owned by Vail Resorts, it's a Rock Resort property.  One of its pluses is its magnificent views of the resort town.  Waking up to the views of the mountains is purifying.

The rooms (there are 60) at the lodge are regular hotel rooms or suites that are wholly owned.  All the rooms have your usual amenities like Wifi, flat screen TVs, iPod docks, telephones.  But they also have ski boot heaters in the closet and comfortable bath robes to relax in after a full day of skiing.
The rooms are cozy and offer superb views of the village.

The staff is also very courteous and quick to offer help with anything you need.  They all hail from all around the world and are extremely happy to be working at the Pines.  The desk staff are available at all times of the day and are happy to call the village's free shuttle service whenever needed.

In addition to ski rental and storage, the hotel offers an outdoor heated swimming pool and jacuzzi (the floor is actually heated outside so you don't freeze your feet off).  Children will love using these faciltiies beforepines2
or after the skiing day starts and there is no better way to relax your muscles after a full day out on the mountain.

At 3pm every afternoon, the lodge offers daily cookies and hot chocolate in the lobby, and you can always find families resting in front of the fireplace.

The lodge has offers fine dining in its Grouse Mountain Gril, a AAA Four Diamond Grouse Mountain Grill and a recipient of the James Beard Award. It's great for a date night or fine for a family if you go on the early side They also offer a daily breakfast buffet which has options for the whole family.

In addition at night, they have a pianist named Tony G. in the restaurant/bar.  If you have a babysitter or can leave the kids with an older chiild, it's worth popping into.

If you book a visit to the Pines right now until January 31st, 2012, you can get a free night plus a $50 gift card and hydration backpack.  You must stay for a minumum of five nights to get this special.

Disclosure: This visit was made complimentary by the team at the Pines Lodge to facilitate this review, but all opinions expressed are my own.
