As we crossed over the threshold of the Anniversary Inn hotel door, the world outside melted away. Exotic sights, sounds and smells enveloped us, enticed us and whisked us away.
I slipped off my shoes and felt the cool tile under my toes for a moment before stepping onto plush carpet that led up the grand staircase to our palatial bedroom...
I knew that anniversary #7 for my husband and I required something extra special. We've endured some very difficult "bumps" in our road the past while and have been sorely deserving of an escape from our daily stresses. We needed relaxation, rejuvination and a bit of rekindling... all in the 24 hr window in which we had secured childcare for our 3 tinys. We found it at The Anniversary Inn.
This beautiful B & B specializes in transporting their guests to a world apart, striving to give "Every Stay A Story". Our respite for the night, the spectacular "Taj Mahal", romances it's guests with old world beauty, but offers a myriad of modern-day luxuries for the ultimate pampering experience. A waterfall fills the enormous jetted tub where guests can enjoy a soak, sip bubbly (provided complimentary as a welcome gift) and watch movies on the flat screen TV mounted on the bathroom wall! Keeping with the theme, an oversized separate shower and ornate golden sink make even washing up indulgent.
After an evening of soaking away our stresses, Brett and I sank into the dreamy King sized My Comfort Bed. A gentle knock at the door the next morning brought breakfast in bed - yogurt parfait, drinks and warm danishes on a tray garnished with flowers. Because check-out wasn't unitl noon, we took our time, enjoying priveleges not afforded to busy young parents: savoring breakfast and watching the morning news in bed (there's a 46" flat screen in the bedroom too).
I can't begin to tell you how sad I was to leave! I felt truly spoiled by all the luxuries Anniversary Inn had bestowed on me: waffle-knit bathrobes, Bath & Body Works toiletries and even complimentary chocolate cheesecake. The signs of excellent care were everywhere - impeccably clean rooms, super-friendly staff, smooth check-in/check-out, etc. We were so pleased with the "Taj Mahal" experience we'd had, we even took a few minutes to tour some of the other rooms they have to offer. Did you know that you can...
Sleep under the stars? Bathe in a tropical grotto? Hit the 8 ball into the corner pocket? Snuggle by a roaring fire? Relax by a serenity pool? Go to the drive-in? Play Juliet over a balcony? Whatever your definition of romance, the Anniversary Inn has a room for you. The even just debuted a "Twilight Suite"! We stayed at their Logan location (which looks to be the most plush - many rooms have the coveted two-TV aspect for tub-viewing), but they also have beautiful accomodations in Boise and at two downtown SLC spots. I was impressed to discover that rooms start at $99 off season!
Whether you're a Utah local looking to escape without spending tons on travel or visiting the area and hoping for a unique stay, the Anniversary Inn provides a truly luxurious respite from the busy world. I want to thank them for hosting us complimentary on our anniversary so that I could experience all they had to offer and share it with you.
