aloft1It's always refreshing to see a new choice of hotel property near the San Francisco Airport -- and the options have gotten even better recently. Just a half mile from the airport, the hip and ultra modern new Aloft hotel is a great choice for a comfortable stay before or after flying or when visiting the Bay Area.

Great amenities like free Wi-fi, bottled water, and quality coffee make this a comfy choice in a loft-inspired lodging option.

Hands-on Fun at the History Colorado Center

historycoloradoThe History Colorado Center is one of the newest museums in Downtown Denver.  Since its opening last year, the History Colorado Center has been teaching visitors about Colorado in a fun and interactive way.  The brightly colored displays draw visitors in and the hands-on activities will keep your children occupied for quite some time.

We recently visited the History Colorado Center, located in the Golden Triangle Museum District, and spent about two hours exploring the exhibits.  After spending much of our first few months in Denver exploring the mountain towns and the ski slopes, we decided that it was time to explore more of our immediate surroundings.  The History Colorado Center was a great place to start.

snowshoe4If you have children who are still in the single digits, you know that it’s hard to take them on a hike or nature walk. It’s like they have an auto-complain chip in their heads: “I can’t go any farther! My legs are tired! I have a pain in my side.”

I’ve found a great starter trail for all of you.  It’s a day trip from Boise --- an hour from Downtown and it’s loads of fun during all seasons.
