A daily interactive parade, nightly entertainment that is projected on waterfall screens in the lagoon and can be seen throughout the park, and a 36 hole miniature golf course that is inspired by the Hollywood drive-in movies…all part of the changes coming this year to Universal Orlando.
The park released details of what they call their “Year to Be Here” during a media briefing this morning.
Some of the changes will start soon.
The Blue Man Group will be more interactive and involve some cutting edge technology starting in February.
And the Amazing Adventures of Spiderman will be ready for guests in March with new animation that allows you “to see the threads on Spiderman’s tights”. You’ll be that close.
Plans were also announced for an interactive parade that will start in the spring. It’ll take place daily and is described as a moving show with four themed experiences, including Despicable Me, Dora and Diego, Spongebob and EB from Hop. You’ll even be able to dance with the characters during certain portions.
A nighttime show will also launch in the Spring at Universal and is claimed to be a “cinematic spectacular” with 100 years of movie memories. The cool part here is the show will be projected on waterfall screens in the lagoons and should be seen throughout the park.
They even have Morgan Freeman signed up to moderate the cinematic moments.
The Despicable Me exhibit will offer a 3D experience where guests can train to be a minion and take a journey through training straight on to a dance party where they can show off their best moves with the Minions.
Near City Walk there’s a 36 hole miniature golf experience going up that is inspired by Hollywood Drive-in movies.
And even Wet-n-Wild is getting a makeover with 15 waterslides and lush, tropical decorations.
Nothing was mentioned in the briefing about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter exhibit going up at Universal Studios Hollywood, but we’re all well aware that will be a huge draw to the west coast Universal attraction.
