If you are visiting the Atlanta area during the winter and want your fix of snow, you're most likely out of luck unless you schedule a visit to Stone Mountain Park's chilly attraction, Snow Mountain Park. 

Snow Mountain offers man-made snow that is close enough to the real thing to satisfy the snow enthusiasts of the South.  There's a big sloped area that you can tube down individually or with your family and a little snow family fort area where you can make a snowman and smaller children can tube down a mini-version of the snow slope. 

Snow is created and pumped in throughout the day, allowing the people in the Atlanta area to experience what their northern neighbors enjoy from Mother Nature.  Snow Mountain is open from Thanksgiving until February 20th, 2012.
