Charleston, South Carolina, is famous for its history, and that, along with its beaches, make it a fabulous place to visit, especially if you’re looking for some family fun. There’s an endless list of entertaining activities and attractions for the kids that adults will enjoy, too. The region now has something called the Explorer’s Club that can help guide you toward the right activity for children of all ages.
To begin their adventure with the Charleston Explorers Club, families must become “explorers” by obtaining a keepsake passport from the Charleston Area Visitor Center. Sound a little too educational? Well, my family just spent three days enjoying just a slice of what the region had to offer and we left with my children telling me it was the most fun we had had together in a long time. They would have loved just hanging out on the beach, but really enjoyed each attraction, too. As you visit each spot, be sure to get your Explorer’s Passport stamped as a memory of your trip. We stayed at Wild Dunes Resort on our trip. You can read about the Resort by clicking here and see our review of some more family fun, the Barrier Islands Eco-Tour, by clicking here.
(Special note: The Charleston Visitor's Bureau invited our family to visit the area and covered many of our expenses. I was not paid for the review and the opinions are my own.)
