The Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin

Southern TravelingMom
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is not just a place to stay. The Village of Baytowne Wharf is a great place that is sure to keep the family entertained all day long!

adventurezoneWhen we stayed at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, one of our favorite parts about where our property was located (The Grand Sandestin) was that it was just steps away from the Village of Baytowne Wharf.

I thought I knew what the Village of Baytowne Wharf was but when we walked down the pathway to it I was taken aback! We live less than two hours away and I couldn’t believe that we had never been there before. The Village of Baytowne Wharf is full of restaurants, shops, and family friendly entertainment.

We ate all of our meals in the village. We had a lovely breakfast at Another Broken Egg Café one morning. My son loved it so much that he kept asking if we could go back to the “Broke Egg Café” for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For dinner, we tried both a seafood restaurant, the Acme Oyster House, and a pizzeria, Roberto’s Pizzeria. Besides the restaurants, there are also several ice cream and candy shops. I was so excited to find a New Orleans style sno ball shop where we were able to get delicious banana sno balls!

adventurezoneplaygroundYou will also find lots of family friendly activities like the Adventure Landing playground where kids can run off any leftover energy in the evening and the Baytowne Adventure Zone where your kids can zip line over the lagoon or try the ropes course. There is also a Eurobungy and a carousel. The carousel was the highlight of my daughter’s evening! You can also attend a magic show at Rick Moore’s Magic Shop.

Sandestin claims the village is the “heart and soul” of the luxury resort and I couldn’t agree more. Besides the restaurants, shops and permanent activities, there are also different events throughout the year. While we were there, we attended an Easter egg where thousands of eggs were hidden throughout the Village of Baytowne Wharf for kids to locate. Concerts series and sunset movies are held on a regular basis as well as special holiday activities.

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort hosted my family for two nights. We paid for meals and transportation. My reviews are based solely on my experiences and opinion with no outside influence.
