5 Reasons Asheville, NC is a great family destination

North Carolina, Asheville, free, family friendly, children,

ashevilleI have just returned from a wonderful weekend getaway where my daughter and I explored Asheville, North Carolina. What a family friendly city! Family-friendly Restaurants – Every restaurant we ate at had buckets of toys, crayons, and waitresses and chefs who said hello to the kids before they said hello to me! Even the French Broad Chocolate Lounge had toys in a corner that my daughter thought were left just for her! It allowed me to have a lovely chocolate dinner!

Hills, hills, and more hills – We live in Florida and although we have hills around us, they are nothing compared to Asheville. When she wasn’t complaining about walking, Little S was skipping up and down the sidewalks laughing about the hills.

The sidewalks – All through Downtown Asheville, we spotted drawings in the sidewalk tiles. The angels were Little S’s favorite!

Sculptures everywhere – There are these great sculptures throughout downtown. Little S loved the gigantic iron and the family!

Apple picking – It is the perfect time to head to one of the many apple orchards in nearby towns. You can visit most orchards for free but you probably won't be able to resist picking apples, eating a caramel apple, buying some pumpkins or apple butter.

My husband and I went to Asheville last year and stayed at the Beaufort House Inn and absolutely loved it and downtown Asheville. We would love to return and take the kids with us next time!
