Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa

Traveling Mom
Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa in New Hampshire is very family friendly with loads of activities for every age.
mountainviewBooks. That is what I remember most besides Mrs. Baker. Every hallway in the Mountain View Grand Resort offers shelves of books – new ones, hard cover. Guests are encouraged to read, maybe sit in the reading room where Eisenhower sat to enjoy his books. Guests can also take the book with them if they hadn’t finished their books. I saved my book reading for the end of the day because there was SO MUCH TO DO on site.

Mountain View Grand is an upscale family resort with a barn that is home to horses, sheep, llamas and alpacas,  a 9 hole golf course, huge pool, outdoor live music, a 17 luxury seat movie theatre, and an unplugged game room. Did I mention axe throwing? It's one of the several activities kids and parents can do together or separately. Details at the resort are important – the mural around the indoor pool has pictures hidden in it for a scavenger hunt. The fitness area rivals any fitness club and includes a yoga room where they might teach yoga, hula dancing or salsa – depends on the dynamic Mrs. Baker’s mood.

Chef Brian, formerly at Equinox, gave us a tour of his intimate and elegant wine cellar where we could have taken our dinner at no extra charge. He is acutely aware of his young guest’s palates and offers grilled salmon, veggies on the kid’s menu.  The Sunday brunch includes everything on the menu plus the buffet.  Our dinner of butternut squash ravioli for my teen, scampi linguini for my tween and grandma's recipe chicken pot pie for my other teen was delicious.  They are passionate about offering local wines, beers, and produce and collect their own eggs from their barn.  The only part of our meal that was not spectacular was dessert. We tried several: bread pudding, creme brulee, a parfait and a pie but nothing that I would recommend.

Mountain View Grand is where you will find family fun in New Hampshire. You can also have a fun time white water rafting!

This visit was part of a press trip to New Hampshire.  The opinions and the axe throwing are my own ideas.
