My plan seemed ambitious to some. Crazy to others. Take two red-eyes in 48 hours to show my teenager New York City at lightning speed. We were invited to the Time to Play Spring Showcase for our site BeTweenTalk.com by Litzky Public Relations. The event was supposed to be just 24 hours. But my wheels started spinning.

How could I take maximum advantage of the chance to spend some quality time with my teen and expose him to this awesome PR event? Work schedules, school schedules and caregiver schedules meant the only way it could work was my crazy red-eye plan!

On Tuesday night we were excited to leave as the car company pulled up to take us to the airport at 11 pm. Much to our dismay when we arrived at Denver International Airport our flight was delayed. There was no place open to buy some much needed caffeine. But a few hours late we boarded our flight full of excitement and yawns. This was our first experience flying Jet Blue and I was happily surprised to learn about their Shut-Eye Service™ designed to take the ‘red-eye’ out of overnight flights. Armed with my new complimentary sleeping mask and earplugs I was able to catch a few hour sleep, interspersed with free DIRECTV®. I was thrilled to awake in the am at JFK with hot towels and Dunkin' Donuts® coffee. Things were off to a fantabulous start!

Since we came in so early we took advantage of our hotels, The Hilton Garden Inn New York/Chelsea, luggage check service and picked up a package waiting for us from The New York Pass. In the package we found a guidebook and our keys to the city for the day! The guidebook was invaluable in helping us map out what New York attractions we could realistically see that day. Over breakfast we decided on the Circle Line River Cruise and the Empire State Building. We decided to leave Times Square and Rockefeller Center for our second day. It was great to be able to see so much of NYC quickly and easily. The New York Pass offered us the flexibility to decide on the go what we wanted to do and not worry how much each new decision was costing us. According to their website, the pass saves the average NYC tourist roughly $63 a day. I honestly couldn’t tell you because the convenience of having the prepaid entrance meant I was having too much fun to worry about admission prices. This makes it priceless to me!
