Have your chance to meet the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales at three different family friendly attractions. Warm Spring Ranch the state of the art Clydesdale breeding farm…
Visit the rolling hills of Missouri, just outside of Booneville Missouri, and discover the story behind those beautiful Budweiser Clydesdales. Warm Springs Ranch is home to more than 100 Clydesdales ranging from newborn foals to the calm and gentle stallions. Tour the stables, see the custom-made harness, meet the team that works daily with these lovely horses, see the equipment used to transport the horses all across the county, and do not leave without getting your photo with one of the gentle giants.
A tour last about an hour and half, conducted as a large group tour, and reservations must be made 24 hours in advance online on Warm Springs Ranch website
. Tours are offered Monday through Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 pm, on Sundays at 2:00 pm, and closed for tours on Wednesdays. The tours begin on April 1st and will go through October 31, 2012, there is a charge to visit Warm Springs Ranch please visit their website for complete details.
Late last summer, my family and I had the opportunity to visit Warm Springs Ranch, and while we have always admired these beautiful horses from afar, to see them up close and personal was truly amazing. While the Clydesdales look beautiful pulling that wagon across your television screen, to see them grazing across the fields in their own homeland is truly breathtaking. We also had the opportunity to get a our photo taken with one of the gentle giants, and that is one of our most treasured photos….our little gal is a horse lover. Clydesdales, Elephants, and Goats at Grants Farm…
A childhood favorite in St Louis, MO is a tour at Grant’s Farm. You have the opportunity to visit the Clydesdale’s in their stable, but you get the chance to see much much more. Deer, zebras, an African Elephant, Antelope, Bison, and much more call Grant’s Farm their home.
The 281-acre farm is home to more than 900 animals and 100 different species, and has been a St Louis landmark for more than five decades.
The Clydesdales and the African Elephant are a hit with everyone, but our favorite thing to do at Grant’s Farm is feed those adorable pygmy goats. Kids and adults get the change to feel, touch, feed, and play with goats, and I believe we probably spend a majority of our time in the goat pens.
After meeting and greeting the goats, have lunch in the courtyard, catch one of the free shows, visit the Clydesdale Stables, and take a tram ride through the grounds.
We have turned Grant’s Farm into an every other year destination, we often combine it with another attraction and make if fun day in St Louis, Mo. The great thing about Grant’s Farm is you can do as little or as much as you want to do, my mother-in-law often just rides the tram through the park and calls it a day. Where the kids and I could spend hours playing with the goats, and visiting the stables.
Grant’s Farm is free family friendly attraction to visit; however, you must pay for parking upon arrival. Please visit their website
for complete details and operating schedule. Anheuser-Busch Brewery in St Louis Mo…
A complimentary tour of the oldest and largest Anheuser-Busch Brewery, see how first-hand how the beer is brewed and packaged. Get a glance at brew kettles, visit the Lager Cellars, and visitors 21 and older have the opportunity to taste some of Anheuser Bush’s quality products.
Here you will also have the opportunity to meet the world-famous Clydesdales, and get a picture of yourself in their historic stables.
The brewery is open for all ages; however, it is not as kid-friendly as Grant’s Farm in St Louis, and Warm Springs Ranch in Booneville, MO. The brewery is more about the beer making process, than the animals. I personally have never taken my kids to the brewery, just because I know they find the other facilities more entertaining. I have several friends that have taken their older children (my kiddos are under the age 10) to the brewery in St Louis and have had a great time. I would put this on the list as a great adult only get-away, and something that man in your life would really enjoy doing.
The tour is offered throughout the year, they have daily schedules that list dates and times on their website
. They also offer a more in-depth look at the brewing process at their Beermaster Tour and Beer School
Have an Adventurous Day!
