Spring has sprung in Missouri, record-breaking spring temperatures, and the beautiful flowers and trees have begun to bloom. Where are some of the best places
to enjoy the beautiful spring scenery in Missouri?
The 7th Largest Spring in Missouri…
Alley Spring the 7th largest spring in Missouri, and probably one of the best known landmarks of the Missouri Ozarks. What sets Alley Spring aside from the many other springs in Missouri is the 100 plus year old Alley Mill that sits at the edge of the spring. Alley Springs and Alley Mill are a picture perfect
scene year around, but as the trees begin to bloom leaving the park shaded and begging visitors to sit and stay a while. Alley Mill
is no longer in operation, but is open daily for tours from Memorial Day to Labor Day, during the off-season the park is open for visits, just not the mill. Within walking distance from the mill, you can also get an up-close look at Story’s Creek School, Alley’s one-room schoolhouse.
Alley Spring and Alley Mill is located 6 miles west of Eminence, Missouri, on State Highway 106. Nature’s Flowering Rock Garden…
Pickle Springs Natural Area
has to be one of the most unique Missouri hikes ever! A mix between giant boulders, beautiful flowers, peaceful creeks, and breathtaking waterfalls. Pickle Springs is one of those places that you have to see it to believe it, knowing that I am quit an adventurer people had suggested I visit Pickle Springs for some time. This past month I loaded our gang up and headed out for a hike, and I must say the entire hike I was in aww at the beauty around us.
Ideally, the short 2-mile hike through Pickle Springs would take about an hour; that is if you can keep yourself from stopping and admiring the beauty around you. While we were a bit early to see many flowering trees, as spring has sprung, the azaleas, dogwoods, and many more of Missouri’s flowering plant are beginning to bloom adding beautiful colors to this breathtaking place. Pickle Springs Natural Area
is located on highway AA, just off highway 32 west of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. Missouri’s Trout Fishing Capital…
The breathtaking view at Bennett Spring State Park in Lebanon, Missouri.
If you are photography lover, Bennett Spring State Park would be near next to Heaven for you, or that is what I thought on my visit. Known for being one of America’s premier trout fishing destination, the park is flooded with eager trout anglers from all around. I am not much of a fisherwoman, but I have a passion for beautiful photos, and finding the perfect place to shoot those breathtaking spots.
Historic stone buildings, the steam rising off the water, and all the anglers lined along the dam…this place looks like a dream.
If fishing or photography is not your thing, Bennett Springs has six amazing trails with a view of the streams, the spring, and the beautiful forest.
Have an Adventurous Day!
