One of the many special things about Chicago is its commitment to public art. There's the giant Picasso at Daley Plaza that kids use as a slide, the fabulous Crown Fountain wading pool in Millennium Park and now, the Eye.
This 30-foot-tall eyeball is one of the pieces of art that will be on display this summer as part of Chicago's Art Loop 2010, showcasing Chicago area artists. The Eye will be displayed from July through October at Chicago's Pritzker Park at State Street and Van Buren. The unveiling is scheduled for July 7.
I can only wonder: How long before someone draws on eyelashes?
