Club Med Punta Cana: Family Info

Club Med Punta Cana is a romantic getaway and a family friendly destination with loads of activities for everyone.
From free childcare and teen programs to daily boat excursions, there is something for every traveler at Club Med Punta Cana.

Even the childcare is free
Mini Club Med programs for children ages 4 and up are free. Children ages 4 -10 take part in a variety of structured group activities from swimming to sushi-making. From ages 11 to 17, kids are in the Passworld program, which allows greater freedom of choice in terms of the activities, but close supervision and a special tween/teen hangout called The Ramp.

Starting at 4 months, childcare is available for a fee, as is in-room babysitting. The range of childcare options and availability make Club Med Punta Cana a great option for a romantic trip that is also a family vacation.

The swinging life at Club Med
For some, Club Med calls to mind the wild nights and swinging singles, but many Club Med resorts, such as Punta Cana, have a decidedly family-friendly vibe. These days, the swinging life at Club Med refers to the circus programs that are part of the children's programs. Parts of this program, including the flying trapeze, are also open to adults.

You bet we were swingers at Club Med! And now that I've tried my hand at the flying trapeze , I'm crossing it off my Bucket List and not looking back. Or down, as it were.

Optional extras
In addition to in-room babysitting and childcare for toddlers, Club Med Punta Cana offers a range of pay-to-play excursions . For example, we spent one afternoon on a relaxing half-day boat trip that delivered us to an offshore sand bar, where we relaxed in chest-high water as the crew waded out to us with drinks and chips. The boat excursion included afresh-grilled lobster lunch with many healthy side dishes back on the boat.
