El Salvador is one of those tiny countries that never seize to amaze you. What makes it so remarkable is that's Central America's hidden secret for the best surfing around. For one, it has one of the longest rights in the region. You can literally ride this wave for 15 minutes.
Second, the beaches are huge and gorgeous.
Thirdly, you never have to battle with other surfers to catch good waves.
But it's also a great place for kids and adults to take lessons super cheap without having to worry that you'll bump into a pro or be scrutinized by other surfers who can be territorial.
Marina K. Villatoro is an expat living with her family and traveling in Central America. El Salvador might be Central America’s smallest country but offers some of the best surf breaks of the area.
