Ometepe Island is the only island in the world that is on a fresh water lake with TWO volcanoes on it. The views from the island and on the island are so spectacular that it really makes the trip to Nicaragua so worthwhile!Plus, I bet many people didn't know. But Lake Nicaragua, which surrounds the island, is also the only fresh water lake in the world with fresh water sharks, how's that for interesting!
