The Bay islands are a group of small islands located kilometers away from the Honduran Caribbean coasts. They are located right on top of the world’s second largest coral reef. These islands are also famous for being one of the best places of the area for diving & snorkeling.  

The bay islands are home to tons of hotels of all kinds. There are beach front hotels, fishing resorts, vacation rentals and hotels for divers. Most of them are family friendly.

 

1. Mansion Tesoro – This hotel is located on the Island of Roatan. It used to be an 8,000sq ft mansion that was turned in to a 6 bedroom suite hotel. The hotel is so intimate and private that you feel that this is your own mansion!  

2. Tranquilseas Eco Lodge – This is lodge is a PADI approved dive resort. It is located on Roatan, where divers get some of the best dive experiences of the area. The hotel only has four cabins separated by tropical gardens. One of the best things about this hotel is the food. 

3. Colibri Hill Resort – This is a small resort with only eight rooms located on Utila Island of Honduras.  The rooms are basic some have fans and others have AC. They all have two queen sized beds, a great bathroom with hot water and a porch to enjoy the views from. Since it’s a three story building I highly recommend asking for a third floor room for amazing views.  

4. Laguna Lodge – This is a five star resort located in Utila and one of the best family hotels in the area. It offers 16 private cabins. The name Laguna means Lagoon which is what separates the resort from the main island of Utila. This definitely makes a difference and gives the place a seclusion and total safety.

Each of these hotels have a great swimming pools where kids can have great time and burn off some energy while you relax and enjoy yourself completely!
