When I first moved to Europe over a decade ago, Halloween celebrations outside of the American expat community were hard to find. In recent years, however this American holiday has become increasingly. Here are 5 great places to celebrate Halloween in Europe.
Tivoli Gardens- Find pumpkins, spiders, scarecrows and all the rest of the usual Halloween suspects at Denmark’s most popular tourist attraction, and the inspiration for Disneyland in California. Don’t miss the Witches Circus, Thriller Mini-Disco and daily Halloween parade. If you arrive between 11 am and 1 pm on weekends you get half off your entrance ticket.
Disneyland Paris – On October 22nd and 26th after the park closes, Mickey and Minnie will welcome you in their scariest costumes to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party and on Halloween night from 8:30 pm – 1 am Disney throws a Halloween Party the likes of which Paris has never seen.
LegoLand Germany – The Halloween festivities include a haunted house, trick or treating, face painting and the chance to help build the world’s biggest LEGO® pumpkin! Also the chance to win a meet & greet with Germany’s most popular band for children “DONIKKL”.
Europa-Park – With more than 150,000 pumpkins, skeletons and spider trees, there’s no denying that Halloween has come to Germany’s biggest theme park. Haunted rooms, a Halloween cabin and the Halloween parade are guaranteed to put you in the Halloween spirit.
Drievliet – This delightful amusement park in the south of Holland features a market where kids can make a jack-o-lantern, a scary movie in the 5D “CineMagic” movie theater and a Haunted Museum.
