Handicapped Access: Monsters Inc. Ride

It’s getting easier to access Disneyland if you have a mobility disability! Many attractions allow guests to remain in their wheelchair during the experience, including Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue.

The entry point of the attraction is set in the Monstropolis Transit Authority, featuring posters that exhort guests to “Join the Child Detection Agency!”  A video by the Monstropolis Chamber of Commerce gives guests a peek into the world they are about to enter. If you have a mobility disability you will enter this ride through the exit. Here is a quick video that shows my son boarding in his wheelchair:

This ride does stop the track while a wheelchair user boards. I do prefer the way Toy Story Mania boards but I appreciate any ride that allows a guest to remain in their chair.

Disclosure: Our family was hosted by Disneyland Resort for this trip. Check out the official Disneyland site for up to date information on disability access in the parks.
