When planning your Disney vacation, you'll more than likely come upon some terms you may not be familiar with. For instance, if I ask you if you have your ADRs do you know what I'm talking about? Or what if I suggest you get a Hopper? This simple list of terms and their meanings should help as you plan your next get away!
ADR: Advanced Dining Reservation. Usually made 90 days before you arrive.
Cast Member: Anyone who works at a Disney property.
Character Meal: Some restaurants on Disney property offer the opportunity to interact with Disney characters while you eat.
Counter Service (CS or Quick Service): Disney's version of fast-food. You can walk up to the counter and order, then take your food to sit down.
DTD: DownTown Disney. A large shopping area with many restaurants and specialty shops. If it's Disney and can be bought, you'll find it here.
Fast Pass: A free option offered on some rides that allows you to come back at a predetermined time and not wait in line for your ride. I'll explain this more in next week's column, What Is A Fast Pass?
Park Hopper (or Hopper): Add-on to Park Admission ticket that allows you to visit more than one park per day.
Room Code: Discount code for reduced room rates.
Table Service (TS or Full Service): A sit-down table meal. Some are buffet, some are family-style. All character meals are table service, but not all table service includes a character meal.
Three levels of Disney resort hotels: Value ($), Moderate ($$), Deluxe ($$$)
