Disney Family Vacations

A trip to Disneyland is a kid’s dream, and a special vacation that’s sure to be filled with memories.  Sometimes a destination like Disneyland where there’s so much going on can be overwhelming, especially for kids with special needs like mine.  After many Disneyland adventures with my family, some more successful than others, I’ve learned a few things that help make sure everyone in our family has a good time.

Since we usually travel with our family of six, I typically book two Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms with Verandahs on a Disney Cruise. However, we had to leave our teen son at home this time when we sailed on the Disney Wonder to the Mexican Riviera.  Therefore, we booked one stateroom which sleeps five.  We arrived early to the Port of Angeles – so, I thought we might have a chance to request an upgrade.  And, I was right!  There was a one-bedroom concierge suite available.

More than half the fun of your voyage on a Disney ship is actually the journey itself.  In fact, sometimes my kids are begging for “one more sea day” during the course of a Disney cruise.  It’s amazing that they can tailor each family member’s experience depending on his/her age, and then bring everyone together for amazing family times, too.
