Cruising for New Foods

Traveling Mom
OBXmongolianFood is a great way to show kids a glimpse of the world. And cruises are a fun way to show kids lots of different kinds of food – without breaking the budget. Most parents usually refrain from ordering something unknown at a restaurant because if no one likes it, it’s like throwing money away.

Meals are included in the cost of a cruise vacation making cruises a risk-free way to experiment with the family taste buds. Special orders don’t upset them and you can send back what you don’t like. It’s not green per se but most ships have composting in place and experimenting now may save a lot of waste later.

On a family cruise last year, my kids discovered curry – green, yellow and red. They surprised themselves with their favorite, which was green and spicy- something I would have NEVER ordered for them had we gone to a restaurant.

Eating new foods adds to the adventure. And it’s a whole lot safer than bungee jumping.
