This is part six in a six-part series reviewing my experience aboard the Disney Wonder. In January, 2009 I was invited to attend a Mommy Blogger Disney Cruise aboard the Disney Wonder. The event was sponsored by BSM Media and Disney. They paid for everything and wined and dined me within an inch of my life. However, the deal was that if I chose to write about the experience (hello? blogger?) I would be honest and completely transparent in my review. This series reflects my own opinions about my experience aboard the Disney Wonder.Broadway-style shows are a must-see on the any of the Disney ships. The Disney Wonder offered usThe Golden Mickeys: According to my notes (oh yes! I took notes on my vacation!) this is the "most technologically advanced stage show at sea." It's a song- and dance-filled tribute to Walt Disney and his most popular characters. What I loved about this particular show was that as guests arrive, they walk down the red carpet! Children are interviewed by Cast Members as if they are truly stars. It's all terribly exciting! Well, I loved that and I loved Tarzan. There was an audible gasp when he did his bit in the show. Here's our very own TravelingMom, Kim Orlando, walking the red carpet and getting unsolicited advice on acceptance speech etiquette:Other Broadway-style shows included Disney Dreams...An Enchanted Classic (featuring Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Cinderella, Ariel, and Timon and Pumbaa) and Toy Story - The Musical (based, as I'm sure you guessed, on the movie. This show, though, gives you a toy's view instead of a human's view). Both were phenomenally choreographed and vibrant. Our group was able to tour the theater backstage and, as you can imagine, the stage has limited space. I was simply in awe of the shows the Cast Members could create and perform in such a limited arena. The innovation that is Disney is alive and well on the Disney Cruise Line.During the day, if you're looking for some down time why not take a break and see a first-run Disney movie? That's right: if it's Disney and it's playing, you can see it aboard your ship at the movie theater. You can even see some movies in 3-D!But my favorite entertainment on our Disney cruise? The fireworks. That's right, my friends. Disney has fireworks at sea and they're the only cruise line to do so! For my family, the fireworks at Disney World are not optional; we buy park-hoppers for many reasons, but one of those reasons is so we can see fireworks at any park we like on any evening we like. Knowing that we'll enjoy fireworks when we cruise with Disney is a definite perk. That kind of detail--ending the evening with fireworks--is what makes Disney, Disney. They push the envelope. They find a way. They make it happen. The result is something magical that, if you haven't experienced, I can't explain. Those that have nod in agreement and smile. Here are the fireworks I enjoyed on the Disney Wonder:
