Curtis Hotel and Corner Office Restaurant in Downtown Denver
While checking-in, give the kids your spare change for their first pop culture, sugar overload. The lobby features a retro 5 & Dime store that sells retro candy such as Bazooka Joe Bubble Gum. If you think the lobby smells like smell fresh baked cookies, you’d be right! At check-in, each guest receives complimentary warm chocolate chip cookies. Before heading up to your room, inspect the variety of board games available in the lobby for room check out, including Battleship, Connect4, Candy Land, Clue and Boggle.
Grab your belongings and head to the elevator, but keep your ears open. Each of the floors are also pop-cultured themed, and that happy adventure begins when the elevator door opens. On the 7th Floor, the Laugh Out Loud Floor, contagious laughter greets you when you step off the elevator. Families with younger children might want to consider the 6th Floor’s Fun and Games theme. Others floor personalities include Sci-Fi, Big Hair, Dance Floor, or Mad about Music. It’s fun to match your personality with your floor theme.
The boutique Curtis Hotel also keeps the fun going in your guest room or suites. Flat screen televisions and iPod speaker systems keeps your family entertained. When it’s time for a wake-up call, request Elvis or Austin Powers (or other pop culture voices) to make the call.
Add a Sunday Funday (every Sunday 7 am to 3 pm) to your itinerary by booking brunch at the on-site restaurant, the colorful Corner Office Restaurant + Martini Bar. Your family friendly Disco Brunch starts with a dress-up trunk filled with disco-themed costumes: wigs, feather boas, funky glasses, and psychedelic pants — even my teen stepdaughter played dress up with me!
Listen to a DJ spinning disco tunes, watch re-runs of Soul Train on the big screen, and mix up your Bloody Mary at a bottomless bar. Enjoy twists of classic favorites, such as Strawberry Cheesecake Waffles, Southern-style Chicken + Waffles, Boogie Woogie Burrito, and Flip Side French Toast — sharing encouraged!
