Heather transplanted to Utah in 2000, and is the wife to a wonderfully supportive husband, Jared, with an entrepreneurial spirit whom she married in 2003, and a mom to 3 beautiful and creative children (2, 4, and 6 years old). She’s originally from sunny southern California, but spent 8 years living in downtown Chicago from 1981 to 1990, then returned back to California’s beautiful Carmel and later Moraga. Heather has done everything from running the front end of a bakery in Carmel, to working as a bridal consultant. In 2000, she began teaching elementary school, and received her Master’s in 2003. In 2004, Heather and her husband welcomed their first child, and that’s when Heather started designing stationery in order to stay home with her baby. On the side, she also worked for a major online University as an evaluator for other teacher candidates. In 2009, she launched Chickadee Prints, and now runs it as her full-time business while being a mommy. Staying home has allowed her family to travel Mexico multiple times each year, sharing the adventure and education with their kids. Travel is very important to Heather and her husband, whom have both done their own travels prior to becoming married. Heather stayed in central Mexico for a month going to school, and has traveled there since she was 5 years old with her family. She also studied throughout Spain in 2008. Jared lived in France for a year, with subsequent trips back, and has been through Mexico and South America as well. The newest adventure their family intends to share together will take them to the Middle East, just outside of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates for the next two years.
