A Taste for Nostalgia in Southeastern Ohio

Etta's Lunchbox Manager Tim SeewerTucked into the foothills of the Hocking Hills area of southeastern Ohio sits Etta's Lunchbox Museum and Cafe. This little eatery delights visitors with walls lined with lunchboxes from years gone by. Round metal lunchboxes the miners carried sit adjacent to the more modern plastic varieties sporting Mickey Mouse, Rambo and Barbie.

Owner LaDora Quesely's collection of over 800 lunchboxes are on display in the museum; select the one you carried as a child and manager Tim Seewer (above) will be able to guess your age within a few years. But be sure to stay for lunch or dinner – Etta's offers a menu of soups, salads and sandwiches, as well as delicious pizza made on homemade crust. Whatever you order, eat inside the cafe at one of the charming custom-painted tables or have it packed to take along on a hike in nearby Hocking Hills State Park.

Etta's Lunchbox Museum and Cafe is located on SR 56 in New Plymouth, Ohio, about 10 miles east of Hocking Hills State Park. Phone (740) 380-0736.
