Every summer, I pack up my kids and take them to Grandma and Grandpa's for the summer. (Yes, I mooch. And no, it is not free. I pay. Believe me. I pay.)Every summer, my kids are happy as can be to go. The pool, the beach, the huge back yard to run around in; the frogs to catch, and vegetable garden to plant.But this year, for the first time, my kids balked."We always go there." whined my daughter."Why can't we go away?" demanded my son.It is away, isn't it? It's not Manhattan, it's not home. I certainly think of it as "away for the summer." Away from our routine, and the endless humidity of Manhattan summer.  Away from elevators and concrete.  Away.But are they right?  Does going away mean going somewhere new?  Can it be called travel when you're headed to familiar ground.  I'd love to hear what you all think,Does it still count as "going away" if you've gone there a million times?
