We all know by now that reading is fundamental. If we want children to become lifelong readers, it is imperative to develop a love of reading early and for children must have access to books. I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to watch my children, giddy with excitement, when faced with shelves of books at a library or a bookstore, not knowing where to start and never wanting to leave. Nor can I express how heartbreaking it is to know that there are so many children that don’t have access to any books. That is why I am so happy to be a part of Passports With Purpose.
This annual travel bloggers fundraiser, in its fourth year, again sees travel bloggers joining forces in the hopes of raising funds to build two libraries in Zambia in partnership with the nonprofit organization, Room To Read. In the past, more than 100 travel bloggers have participated in Passports With Purpose, raising money to help construct a village in India and a school in rural Cambodia.
You can help raise funds for this wonderful cause by going to the Passports With Purpose website to see not only the prize donated on behalf of my blog Mo Travles, but also the full list of prizes on offer. With the purchase of a raffle ticket for as little as $10, not only are you helping Passports With Purpose build libraries in Zambia, you are also entering to win a prize of your choice. The fundraiser, which began on November 30th, ends December 16, 2011, with all proceeds go directly to Room to Read.
