Southeast Michigan has no shortage of fun – and sometimes free – activities for all ages. Here are five fun ideas for a day or night on the town with the girls. Visit a Farmers' Market
A farmers' market can provide fresh and healthy fun in the form of unusual fruits and veggies, as well as baked goods, crafts and more. Enjoy the local fare and take home some treats.
Take a Spa Day
Whether you're looking for a day of pampering or a quick manicure or pedicure, there's no shortage of spas in southeast Michigan. Bellanina Day Spa is one of my favorites and offers nail, face, and hair treatments; massages; and much more – as well as a one-bedroom guest house to make the spa experience last even longer.
Attend a Wine Tasting
Many restaurants and bars in Ann Arbor offer extensive wine lists, from which guests can select a wine flight; some even offer scheduled tastings. Located on Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor, Vinology has more than 100 wines served by the bottle and 50 by the glass from around the world. Paesano's Restaurant and Wine Bar on Washtenaw Avenue offers a weekly wine tasting from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesdays with Wine Director Chaad Thomas.
Shop
Shops, stores and boutiques for every budget and style can be found on the streets of Ann Arbor. Unique fashions, handmade goods, children's items, used books, gourmet foods and more are offered in the many stores downtown and around town.
Eat
A visit to Ann Arbor isn't complete without a stop at one of its many restaurants, diners or food carts. Perhaps the most well-known venue is Zingerman's Delicatessen, which offers a deli downtown, as well as a roadside restaurant (see photo) on the west side of town.
