As in KIM Orlando, not Orlando Florida. And as in freezing cold, not warm and balmy! As has been our family Chrismas tradition for the past 6 years or so, this weekend the Orlando Family will spend the day and night in nearby New York City. Our goal is to eat our way from one gorgeous store holiday window to another. We usually start at Macy's, then hit Lord & Taylor, then to Saks 5th Avenue where we can check out the tree and the skaters. Every year we threaten to skate but now my tweens and teen are too self conscious about falling. The kids love the gross hot dogs and nuts you buy from the street vendors, I love the roasted chestnuts and we all love Ellens' Stardust for the kitchen sink ice cream.
This year we get an added bit of entertainment thanks to Infiniti. We will be their guests at Cirque du Soleil's Wintuk on Saturday night and the Omni Hotel Berkshire Place has a room waiting for us when the show is done.
For a minute or so I start to feel warm and fuzzy just thinking about spending time together as a family. I may try [again] to put a moratorium on the electronics for an hour at least. We'll see how that goes. Didn't go so well this summer on Amelia Island. But a mother has to keep trying!
Want to join the Orlando Christmas Tradition? Leave your twitter name below by Friday night at 11pm EST and you will be entered to win 2 tickets - a present from Infiniti. We will leave the tickets at Will Call for you. The tickets are good for the Wintuk show on Saturday, December 18 at 7:30 only.
Want a chance to win a trip to see Cirque du Soleil in Zurich, Tokyo, Barcelona, Montreal or Las Vegas? Click here before January 31, 2011.
Disclosure: Infiniti provided the Wintuk tickets.
The Omni Hotel provided the night stay at their Berkshire Place property.
