Horses for Heroes is a nationwide discounted horse program for military personnel (active duty and veterans), law enforcement officers, fire fighters/EMTs, critical care and hospice nurses, special needs school teachers and families who are struggling with serious, chronic illnesses and/or disabilities.
Although this program is available in many states each program varies some from the other. In general each program will have some basic elements. Your family has to join the program to be involved and this includes a fee of $35-50. Some of the things this fee will get you access to is
-discounted horse back riding lessons $10-15
-weekly play date with horse ride and chores for little ones $10
-Operation free ride where the whole family can come out and ride for free
-4 one hour Introductory lessons $50
