If you do decide that it's worthwhile for you to use your credit card to obtain travel rewards, this list of the Top Five Reward Cards from BillShrink.com could be really useful:

· CapitalOne Venture Rewards Card offers 2 miles for every dollar spent, plus 10,000 miles after one purchase. What does that equate to?  A $100 credit for any airline ticket purchase. They'll even waive the $59 annual fee for the first year. (Foreign transaction fee = 0%)
· CapitalOne Orbitz Visa Platinum offers 3 points for every dollar spent on Orbitz booking your flights, hotels and cars and 1 point per dollar for all other purchases. You can even get bonus points just for redeeming points. (Foreign Transaction Fee = 0%)
·  Chase Sapphire Preferred Card offers 25,000 bonus points – enough for a free flight – after you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months.  Cardholders also earn 7% "interest" on their points, get double points for all airfare booked through Ultimate Rewards, and there are no blackout dates on travel. The $85 annual fee will even be waived for the first year! (Foreign transaction fee = 3%)
·  Discover Escape Card rewards 1,000 Bonus Miles each month you make a purchase for your first 25 months (that's 25,000 miles!)  Additionally this card offers double miles on all purchases and an additional 2 miles for every $1 spent at ShopDiscover.com. (Foreign transaction fee = 2%)
·  American Express Starwood Preferred Guest Card offers a sign-up bonus of 10,000 points - enough for 3 free nights - after first purchase, and 2 points for every $1 spent at Starwood.  Plus, they’ll waive the $45 annual fee for the first year.  (Foreign transaction fee = 2.7%)

What credit card to you use to earn travel rewards?  I use a Gold American Express card, and am always happy with their membership rewards program.
