Since I am living in Stomach Flu Central (and you thought I lived in New York!) I don't have much time to blog. But I did come across this great quote while reading my new favorite magazine, The Week.
(It's a must have for busy moms, since it gives a summary of the biggest news from around the world each week, as well as how it was covered by various media outlets. It's like reading a weeks worth of news in half and hour! Also excellent for playing catch up after a vacation without a newspaper, or a week with stomach flu.)Anyhoo -- here's the quote. And it's one that we should all keep in mind as we travel through life:
"The world is a book, and those who do not travel, read only a page." - St. Augustine
So take trips. See the world. And if you can't afford that, see the neighborhood, your state, your local library. Traveling doesn't have to mean airplanes and ships and expensive hotels. It can just mean exploring the world around you.
Take me, for instance. I'm about to travel to my daughter's room...since that's where the dog just threw up.
And I'm not kidding.
