In a few weeks my family will be cramming our minivan trunk full, stocking a cooler with snacks and taking to the open road! All five of us (hubs and I, plus the Tinys - ages 5, 3, and 2) will roll 0ver 700 miles westward to the California coast as part of the Country Inns and Suites "Hit The Road" campaign. Today I sat down to do the first and, in my mind, most imperative preparation for a successful RoadTrip: The Playlist.
Because no matter what happens while you travel - whether it's a flat tire, the stomach flu, or just getting hopelessly lost - it all seems a little less dreary with the right soundtrack. Music can keep you gro0vin' during late-night driving, soothe children to sleep, enhance the beauty of the scenery, and always sets the right mood for adventure! I'll be making several playlists over the next few weeks for our Cali roadtrip with different themes, but my first is entitled -
"The Great American RoadTrip" Playlist

Omaha / Counting Crows
California Dreamin' / The Mamas and The Papas
Leaving Las Vegas / Cheryl Crow
I guess the Lord Must Be In New York City / Harry Nilsson
Walking In Memphis / Mark Cohn
America / Simon and Garfunkel
Carolina In My Mind / James Taylor
Callin' Baton Rouge / Garth Brooks
Woodstock / Crosby, Stills and Nash
Sweet Home Alabama / Lynard Skynard
Montana Skies / John Denver
