A friend is going on a 10 hour roadtrip from Cleveland to Vermont with her husband, and her kids who are 5 and 4. And I am jealous! Unbelievable. But I am a roadtrip convert, roadtrip fan, and if this economy doesn't change, permanent roadtripper. I have incredibly warm memories of my recent family vacation / roadtrips. Last summer it was 3500 miles from CT-KY-IL-CT. The year before it was San Fran to LA. Then another one-way trip with my mom from KY to CT. Driving feels like freedom. No security lines, cancelled flights or hours and hours in an airport. Just get in and drive.
