New York City - Staying with Kids

Finance TravelingMom

Back before my husband and I had kids, we traveled to New York City frequently.  My husband had a job that required him to be in New York once or twice a month, and since I had more vacation time than him, I would often take a day or two off and tag along.  However, once we had kids, we only went to NYC as a family once, when my daughter was still an infant.  Now that my kids are a somewhat manageable age, I'm taking a look at hotels in New York - trying to figure out which one will be best family-friendly hotel in NYC for our family.

My favorite hotel, which is way too expensive for us if paying for it ourselves (rather than staying there for my husband's job) is the New York Palace HotelThe Palace has gorgeous deluxe rooms, which are not only beautiful, but also fairly spacious for a NYC hotel.  Those are the rooms we usually stay in - I love the deluxe toiletries and the other amenities. You may already be familiar with the New York Palace Hotel from the TV show Gossip Girl, which sometimes films on location here.  I'd imagine when the cast stays here, they probably stay in the Towers Corner Suite or the Towers Royal Suite.

It also is so conveniently located, right near Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and 5th Avenue!  When we stayed there with my daughter, we were supplied with a real crib (not a portable crib) as well as an adorable baby basket with a stuffed teddy bear wearing a Palace t-shirt.

Although I've never stayed there, I've heard some great things about the Kimberly Hotel, located in Midtown.  The Kimberly Hotel is an (almost) all-suite hotel, with large rooms, something that is almost unheard of in NYC.  The Midtown location is also convenient to Rockefeller Center and 5th Avenue - my favorite places.  The breakfast buffet looks to be a great value too, and is half-off for children.

Where do you stay in NYC with kids?
