Bing Travel for Saving Big on Vacations

Finance TravelingMom

Back in May, I wrote about my experiences with Farecast.com, where I saved over $100 on my BlogHer flight.  Well, in the last few months, Farecast has been rebranded as Bing Travel, and now includes some great information about hotels as well!

For the easiest search, if you enter a simple query, such as "Boston to Houston flight" into the Bing search box, the first result will be some basic pricing details about the flight, including a 30-day price predictor.  You can then click that result to get more details, as well as add your specific flight requirements.

You can also use Bing Travel to search for hotel prices.  For each hotel, Bing adds their proprietary algorithm to determine whether the price is a deal, average price, or not a deal, based upon historical details for that hotel.  If, for instance, a price is higher because of a conference or special event at the hotel, Bing will display "not a deal", and you can search for another hotel.

Whether you are on a strict budget, or willing to break the bank, knowing when to buy can really help you get the most for your money!
