Twitter Party Recap: Should Planes Have Family-Only Sections?

TravelingMom stirred up some strong feelings when we asked during our September 6 Twitter Party: Should families traveling with kids be relegated to a family-only section on planes?

Preparing for Hurricane Earl with Young Children

The end of last week brought a flurry of activity to our house. No, not because of school or Labor Day weekend but because Hurricane Earl was heading towards New England and it looked like Rhode Island was going to be one of its victims.

Twitter Party Sep 6: Family-only plane sections

End your Labor Day weekend with a party!  Hot topic, thanks to USA Today, is family sections on planes.  What do you think about that concept?  Join our Twitter party to share.

Unplanned family vacations: the best kind

The unplanned or unexpected things often end up being the most memorable parts of a family vacation. For us, it was a chair. “The Chair” was the first place we ended up after a 5 a.m. taxi ride, two long plane rides, and a double-barf ferry ride from St. Thomas to Tortola. (Seasickness is a big problem in our family).

Horses for Heroes

Horses for Heroes is a nationwide discounted horse program for military personnel (active duty and veterans), law enforcement officers, fire fighters/EMTs, critical care and hospice nurses, special needs school teachers and families who are struggling with serious, chronic illnesses and/or disabilities.

Stress-Free Camping with a Family

Camping is one of my family’s favorite activities!  From the moment we get on the highway until we pull back into the driveway two days later, we can’t seem to get enough of the uninterrupted family fun.

Camping with Kids

The humidity is still around, but the hint of the slightly cooler September breeze means it is time for camping fun!! We love to go camping with our kids and try to go at least three or four times each fall. I am not a big fan of roughing it but I love a good car campsite near relatively clean showers and a bathroom.

City Fair

Around the country, Americans flock to state fairs. In New York City, we head to the Open. The Open, for those not in the know, refers to the US Open, one of the four grand slam tennis tournaments annually (just as ‘the city’ means NYC, ‘the open’ refers to this event, not the golf tournament.
