The most irresistible foods to me around the holidays are the dessert items. The home-made apple or pumpkin pies…or even fresh baked from the orchard..Also, the never-ending supply of home-made Christmas cookies…I must resist them or eat them in moderation or pay the price!

Forgive me if this was posted more than once, I am having computer problems. The foods I find irresistable around the holidays are the desserts. The pumpkin and apple pies fresh from the orchard, the endless supply of home-made holiday cookies….so tempting but I must remember: Moderation!

I love Janice Taylor’s website and creative ideas. It really makes me think about my own journey with food. As a psychotherapist, I see how the sights, tastes and mere presence of food, for many people, not only nourishes our souls but brings us directly back to childhood memories in a way that few things can. I remember how every Christmas my dad would insist on placing this over-huge orange in my Christmas stocking because in Europe, when he grew up, if the lake was frozen it meant that my grandparents could walk across it to the “big market” and bring home a rare and prized fruit for each of the children for Christmas day. The smell of oranges still evokes this sacred sensation within me. As for irresistable foods, I am most tantalized by my dad’s turkey stuffing (which he always made at both Thanksgiving and Christmas – it was a meal unto itself). My dad passed away last November so the torch was passed on to me. Having this age old recipe in hand not only makes me think of my dad, but also of how important holidays and family gatherings were to him and how much effort he went to to make every occasion a delicious and memorable one.

I can’t resist the sweet potato casserole-it calls out my name! This year, I plan on not shoving the spoonfuls in so ravenously, as I have lost 20lbs and want to keep it off. This package would help motivate me to stay on track. Happy Holidays, Kimberly

These are a great idea- my biggest holiday cravings are always sweets. I eat way too much chocolates, pecan pies, cookies, etc every holiday.

The most irresistable foods for me during the holidays are sweets, like cookies and pies. I also really like eggnog.

I think all the yummy holiday food is pretty much irresistible. But, I am mostly a sucker for the homemade cookies. I can’t help it. A few bites and they’re gone… and so delicious!!

I can’t stay away from the Honey Baked Ham and the mashed potatoes. At least I’m pregnant this year and I can use that as an excuse!

Each town seems to have their own specialist ice-cream store (with the inevitable, irresistible homemade fudge counter) and that’s the biggest draw for me and my family (come summer or winter) Ojai, California, has a fab retro ice cream store straight out of the 50s.
